In major news, Facebook announced they’ve partnered with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce to create a mobile-first shopping experience on Facebook and Instagram. The initial purpose of Facebook Shops is to offer small businesses an opportunity to generate sales and maintain/build customer relationships amid the current economic challenges.
Facebook/Instagram Shop pages are absolutely free to set up; however, there will be fees associated for completed transactions and shipments after June 30th, 2020. Businesses can also promote their page stores through paid ads, stories, live video and organic content.
Facebook Shops is a great consideration for small businesses that already have a website with an established e-commerce channel, as it can provide a lift for product exposure and sales.
You’ll be able to offer products to new and existing customers across the highest populated mobile apps worldwide while also providing integrated customer service (i.e. connecting with customers on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram Direct) and promoting loyalty programs.
