Unless you’re Jimmy Two Times from Goodfellas who says everything twice like, “I’m gonna go get the papers get the papers”, you should really stop repeating yourself.
Here’s a list of redundant phrases that we’re all guilty of using, but that we’re all capable of eliminating.
Innovations are by definition new, so new innovations is a no-no.
While we’re on the subject, something can’t be very unique.
If you want to ask a question, just ask.
A brief summary is already too long.
Future plans are just plans, and don’t even think about planning ahead.
Don’t ask people to collaborate together. It wouldn’t be collaboration if it wasn’t together.
If you’ve made an unintentional mistake, don’t worry, it wasn’t intentional. And there’s no need to revert back, simply revert to what you had before.
When writing marketing letters and emails, remember that a free gift isn’t much of a gift if you have to pay for it. And an added bonus is still exciting if it’s just a bonus.
Finally, my personal favourite, if you want customers to find a store in their local area, it doesn’t get any more local than the area they’re already in.
